Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer/Programmer to support rapid prototyping of distributed systems and associated integration technologies.
Candidates must be proficient with C++ (C++11 and C++14 a plus) and object oriented design. Expertise with Windows and Linux operating systems as well as embedded systems, network programming, symmetric multi-processing/multi-threading, is required.
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 (or later), Linux IDEs such as Qt Creator, Eclipse, KDevelop or Code::Blocks, software control suites such as Git, CMake, XML and Qt Toolkit is preferred. Familiarity or experience with VMware, Data Distribution Service (DDS), hardware emulation, and an understanding of real-time programming techniques is highly desired.
Experience with service oriented architectures, software prototyping, and the IAMD and PATRIOT systems is desired. Qualified applicants will have good programming skills, be able to work independently, and take a proactive role to assure that responsibilities are completed on schedule.
A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related technical field is required along with 5+ years of direct experience. The candidate needs to be experienced with multiple programming languages and comfortable assuming development tasks immediately upon hire. The candidate will be expected to perform work independently and as part of a team.
