Eglin AFB, FL
This position will provide advisory and assistance support to the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate (AFRL/RW). The successful candidate will support the development of varying fidelity level (ex.3-DOF, 5-DOF, 6-DOF) simulations weapons systems and subsystems covering a broad spectrum of simulation methodologies.
Continuous 7 years experience modeling, simulation, and analysis of munition systems in 6-DoF, psudo-5-DoF, and 3-DoF environments
– Expert using Simulink environment
– Simulink code generation experience
– Integrate code generated models into other architectures
– Experience with C or C++
7 years experience with air-air and air-ground munition systems and knowledge of interactions between all munitions subsystems: airframe, seekers, guidance and control software and hardware
– Ability to identify and implement guidance algorithms to achieve performance objectives for all phases of flight: launch, mid-course, and terminal
– Ability to work with existing autopilot models and tune autopilot gains to achieve performance objectives
– Ability to implement novel autopilot models
– Working knowledge of aerodynamic models
– Ability to implement complex seeker models and target tracking algorithms
Ability and experience with generating novel and conventional approaches to analyzing various performance results of the above systems and clearly convey the results to both senior technical and management levels.
This position requires candidates possess a current Secret security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a Secret security clearance will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position.
