HWIL Integration and Analysis Engineer - Entry Level (Full-time)

Huntsville, AL

Torch Technologies is currently seeking an entry to mid-level engineer to support the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Branch.

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking qualified Simulation Software Development professionals to support simulation development for Systems Simulation and Development Directorate.

Qualified candidates will have direct experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience working on all digital and/or hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulations. The typical simulation environment would include synthetic terrains, weapon, target, and sensor models running closed loop or where applicable their hardware counter parts.
  • Experience in software/model development in simulation development frameworks such as Common Simulation Framework (CSF), Common Scene Generator (CSG), or Joint Scientific Image Generator (JSIG) .
  • Familiarity with OpenGL and/or Shader based rendering/computation.
  • Experience in modeling guided munition system components such as weapon seekers, guidance and control, control actuator systems, etc.

Requirements:

  • A mid-level simulation software development engineer to develop and integrate computational modules into the JSIG environment, analyze simulation output to determine system performance, and an understanding of the unique problems associated with developing, maintaining, and exercising HWIL/Digital weapon simulations.
  • Working knowledge of C and C++ in a Linux development environment is required.
  • Professional, self-starter, with ability to take direction and good team player.
  • Ability to work in dynamic environments and support multiple users; good creative problem solver with a commitment to assisting the team in building quality software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to present technical and non-technical topics to event participants (small and medium sized groups)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline is and five (5) years of directly related experience is required. Additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Position requires that candidate possess a final Secret security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
