Torch Technologies is currently seeking a highly experienced, self-motivated Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager for a temporary on-call (TOC) position.
Candidate will coordinate on-site technical requirements between the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Test Resources Division and sea-based test infrastructure assets.
Providing on-site development and management of sea-based test instrumentation and for ensuring MDA Program Element test requirements can be supported by the mobile-range infrastructure; Responsible for developing annual operations and maintenance funding requirements and tracking the MARAD execution of MDAs funding; Planning support for overhaul and modification of the MV Pacific Collector and the transition/integration of the Transportable Telemetry System and Range Safety System onto the ship; Assisting the MDA Asset Manager in the overhaul, modification of the SS Pacific Tracker in support of the X-band radar and Transportable Telemetry Systems onto the ship; Conducting trade studies to determine required modifications, concept of operations and mission feasibility for MDA sea-based test assets to support Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) testing.
The candidate will also be responsible for assisting the MDA Asset Manager in the management of sea-based test mission support activities including mission planning, manning and underway operations of the MV Pacific Collector and SS Pacific Tracker. To include: Developing and/or evaluating mission cost estimates; Develop mission support plans to include vessel deployment schedules; Support Mission Readiness Reviews for both vessel and instrumentation to assess readiness to support MDA and non-MDA missions; Developing and assessing sustainment, improvement and modernization plans; Assisting in the management of the execution of sea-based system engineering processes. Liaison with the Maritime Administration for all management, sustainment and operations of both the MV Pacific Collector and SS Pacific Tracker. To include Shipyard/Drydock specification development and execution.
Position is located in Huntsville however, travel is required.
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field and 5+ years of experience is required. Candidate must be confident operating with all levels of MDA leadership, engineering, and non-technical support personnel. Proficient computer skills are required, including Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel. Candidate must have a valid state driver’s license.
