Senior Level Computer Programmer/Kernel Developer
The successful candidate will provide technical advice and assistance in the production of Linux kernel and other software related to Air Force nuclear surety and certification. This will include performing custom modification and maintenance to the Linux kernel, as well as other Linux components, and other open and propriety software systems. Other responsibilities will include writing and evaluating documentation for software, hardware, and related systems, assisting with conducting testing.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 10 or more years’ experience in a technical environment, is required. Relevant work experience may be substituted for specific educational requirements.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience with C, C++ or a closely related language. Python, Perl, bash and other scripting languages are a bonus as well as Yocto or RedHawk experience.
Applicants must have experience working on the Linux kernel. Documented contributions to the Linux kernel are a bonus and device driver experience is strongly desired. Embedded Linux experience is also strongly desired.
Position requires candidates be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information (An active SECRET clearance is preferred ). Inability to maintain a SECRET security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
Up to 10% travel may be required. Position is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico
