Cyber Security Analyst (Full-time)

Honolulu, Hawaii

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking qualified IT professionals to support USPACOM Exercise execution for the Pacific Warfighting Center in support of the J3.  The Pacific Warfighting Center provides support for USPACOM Joint Exercises for US and Allied warfighter training and readiness. 

This position is in support of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unclassified Information Sharing Service (UISS) All Partners Access Network (APAN) at USPACOM Pacific Warfighting Center (PWC), Ford Island, HI.  Perform a vast array of software application analysis and Cyberspace intelligence analyst duties.  Work with various knowledge managers and software developers to efficiently produce all necessary reports needed for crisis action planning and exercise execution.  Possess in-depth comprehension of intelligence analytic concepts to monitor, assess, and report on Cyberspace operations, capabilities, and vulnerabilities.  Contribute substantive content to reports and briefings, and to the development of complex analytic approaches and recommendations to fix problems and situations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities are the monitoring of the APAN application and network for attacks, malicious software and possible intrusions
  • Monitor, investigate, analyze both raw and normalized network traffic, correlate connected sequences of events, detect incidents, reconstruct into timelines for analysis, identify malicious network activity, and generally assist in conducting defensive Cyberspace operations to protect the organization’s network infrastructure and intellectual property.
  • Participate3 in incident response activities and work closely with security services (NIS, FBI, NSA, etc.) who may be inquiring about specific incidents related to APAN application and/or network services
  • Work closely with APAN software engineers and knowledge managers to provide relevant situational awareness for APAN information security stakeholders.
  • Write and report information security operations documentation and analysis
  • Work with the PWC information security and systems team to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks
  • Analyze, interpret & recommend solutions for system shortfalls, discrepancies or improvements in APAN related technologies and access requirements
  • Work as an integral part of the PWC APAN team
  • Update servers with the latest software and patches, audit network systems & identify security issues, policy violations & performance problems


  • Minimum 4 years experience as an intel analyst focused on Cyber or Intel Analysis & support
  • DoD 8570 IAT/M Level II Certification or above, including Security+, CISSP, or CEH
  • Experience in coordinating with DoD organizations, federal agencies, and commercial partners
  • Knowledge & experience with briefing senior military or civilian leaders to action officers desired
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills desired

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience is required. Additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

This position requires that the selected candidate have an active final TOP SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.

This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Travel will vary, and may be as much as approximately 10%.
