Software Developer (Full-time)

Honolulu, Hawaii

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking qualified IT professionals to support USPACOM Exercise execution for the Pacific Warfighting Center in support of the J3.  The Pacific Warfighting Center provides support for USPACOM Joint Exercises for US and Allied warfighter training and readiness. 

This position is in support of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unclassified Information Sharing Service (UISS) All Partners Access Network (APAN) at USPACOM Pacific Warfighting Center (PWC), Ford Island, HI.  The developer is responsible for development, maintenance and troubleshooting of APAN code/application, as well as the specifications, design, and testing of new applications and products.  They provide overall software development for the APAN and work with Product Development Teams in an Agile Scrum software development environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and test existing software components
  • Develop specifications and design documents to fulfill end user requirements
  • Plan, design, and implement software components to fulfill end user requirements
  • Works within a product team structure
  • Follow and improve agile software development process
  • Configure and maintain software components in a development environment
  • Reports directly to the Software Developer Lead
  • Socialize designs with team and integrates suggestions and changes as appropriate
  • Unit test software components to ensure module-level functionality & data structure consistency
  • Participates in design and implementation/code reviews of other team members
  • Resolves issues found during engineering test & QA in a timely manner, taking risk into account
  • Implement code in a timely fashion and with high quality, consistent with standards for group
  • Provides technical direction in areas of specialty
  • Communicates with customers on strategic accounts as necessary
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years experience in application development in ASP.NET
  • Familiar with C#, VB.NET, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Familiar with social networking and Web 2.0 technologies (blogs, wikis, forums, crowd-sourcing)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008/2010/2016
  • Knowledge of VMware and uploading code into Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, MS SQL 2008/2012

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience is required. Additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

This position requires that the selected candidate have an active final security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.

This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Travel will vary, and may be as much as approximately 10%.
