Graphic Artist/Graphic Designer (Full-time)

Honolulu, Hawaii

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking qualified Graphic Artist/Designer professionals to support USPACOM Exercise execution for the Pacific Warfighting Center in support of the J3.  The Pacific Warfighting Center provides support for USPACOM Joint Exercises for US and Allied warfighter training and readiness. 

This position is in support of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unclassified Information Sharing Service (UISS) All Partners Access Network (APAN) at USPACOM Pacific Warfighting Center, Ford Island Hawaii. The APAN Graphic Designer/Multi Media Specialist is a creative thinker who can adapt aesthetically to meet the diverse needs of customers, clients and staff. Must be able to work well both independently and within a multi-collaborative team environment. Must be a quick thinker and deliver innovative approaches to each visual messaging and marketing/communication initiative that makes each assignment the best it can be. The Graphic Designer/Multi Media Specialist strongly articulates their refined design strategies both visually and verbally, is well-versed in the technical nuances of the Adobe Creative Suite and range of design mediums from layout to branding and experiential graphics. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Concept to completion of graphics, layout, and design for print and online posting
  • Concept to completion of banners ads and page design for web and other forms of marketing
  • Work closely with management and other marketing support staff to create unique and cutting-edge projects including web videos and multimedia products
  • Design presentations and materials for business pitches and client communications
  • Design marketing materials and infographics that are creative and original to reflect both the company and our clients
  • Produce high quality and visually appealing digital content including emails, website banners, and social media graphics
  • Assist with brand development including logos, typography, color palettes and imagery
  • Maintain brand standards and integrity within all designs
  • Communicate across all levels of management and departments to produce proposals and graphics. 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong foundation in graphic design and typography, while being comfortable working within established brand style guides.
  • Professional, highly motivated, and able to thrive in a multi-task environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, well organized, and demonstrates a high-level of accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills (ability to adapt to new software and systems).
  • Understands the digital print process and ability to check all printed work.
  • Familiar with responsive design standards and experience in creating designs for multiple platforms and screen sizes.
  • Must have proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Office Suite and other software programs deemed necessary. 

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience is required. Additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

This position requires that the selected candidate have an active final SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.

This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Travel will vary, and may be as much as approximately 10%.
