Software Development (Summer Intern) (Full-time)

Huntsville, AL

Torch Technologies is currently looking to fill a temporary summer position for a Software Development Intern located in Huntsville, AL.

This position will support software development for internal business operations, including automation of business processes and integration of data sources across different business areas.  Current processes are defined in VBA and candidate would be expected to extend those processes within the Microsoft Office tool suite. 

Candidates to this position will be expected to be self-motivated and self-directed.  Primary responsibilities will be to capture requirements, develop and extend existing tools, implement a robust error checking capability, and identify additional solutions to business process needs. 

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of college coursework towards a Computer Science degree or a Business Analytics degree.  Masters level coursework or experience is desired.  Required coursework or experience includes C++, Java or other Object Oriented Code as well as database development and maintenance.

Direct experience with VBA in MS Excel and MS Access is strongly desired.  Experience with unit testing and regression testing is desired.

Position requires that candidate meet requirements to obtain a final security clearance in order to access classified information.  Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
