Systems Engineer (Full-time)

Eglin AFB, FL

Torch is currently looking to fill the following position:

Systems Engineer

This position supports the Air Force Research Laboratory, Munitions Directorate Concept Integration and Demonstration (AFRL/RWPI) Branch and is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida. The successful candidate shall support high visibility programs (e.g., High Speed Weapons) and time-critical, rapid response activities (e.g., JCTDs). The successful candidate shall provide technical assistance with the implementation of systems engineering principles for prospective or executing programs and activities within the RWPI portfolio. The successful candidate shall develop systems engineering inputs to pre- and post-Milestone A acquisition documentation including cost analyses, risk analysis plans, technical development strategies, technical data packages, and systems engineering plans. The successful candidate shall interface directly with government program management, engineering, finance, contracting, and logistics personnel as part of a team facilitating planning and initial development of AFRL/RWPI program

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in a technical field plus 10 years of experience, or a master’s degree in a technical field plus 7 years of experience, or a Ph.D. in a technical field plus 5 years of relevant experience is required.

In-depth knowledge of and experience with systems engineering policies, procedures, methodologies, technical approaches, design analyses, risk analyses, and risk planning related to development of weapon systems is required. An understanding of sound engineering principles, including Systems Engineering Plans, Systems Engineering Assessment Models, assurance of traceability and feasibility of analyses and test plans is required. Familiarity/experience with DoD conventional munitions acquisition programs is highly desired.

Applicants should have a strong systems engineering background. Applicants must have highly developed interpersonal skills to interact with senior levels of government and senior management of industry prime contractors. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Experience using MS Office applications is highly desired..
