Senior Modeler and M&S Analyst (Washington, DC) (Full-time)

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee owned company, is looking to identify capable candidates to support a potential new contract opportunity.

The position requires a clear understanding of how to perform modeling at the joint and mission level. Experience shall include high level education and hands-on experience in quantitative (e.g. Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, econometrics) fields of study.

The candidate should have expertise in analytic
methods and in leading modeling efforts from initial objectives translation to research
design through socialization of the model and analysis results. They should have demonstrated ability to interface with Government staff, conduct and manage models and simulations, and ensure the work of other modeling personnel are properly scrutinized for the tenets of good thought, analysis, and suitability for OSD consumption. The candidate should possess experience leading complex modeling and simulation efforts within a broader cycle of research. Candidate will be responsible for the development of methodologies and determining data for a variety problems applicable to the model required.

In addition, the candidate must be able to execute the model and interpret the results as part of the analysis of an overall design of research and develop operational insights without detailed direction. The successful candidate should be able to present detailed work and prepare results suitable for Senior Executive Service, Flag Officer, and political appointee decision makers. This level of experience and expertise is required with one or more of the following Models and Simulations: Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM), Joint Integrated Contingency Model (JICM), Naval Simulation System (NSS), and Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM).

The position requires either a Master of Arts or Master of Science degree with demonstrated proficient analytic capability and 10 years of relevant experience.
A Ph.D. and least 10 years of experience in military analysis and modeling is highly desired. Experience developing models with one or more of the following languages and environments highly desired: Python, C++, C#, Java, Julia, Ruby, MATLAB, and Simulink.

The position requires a minimum of an active Top Secret/SCI clearance to access classified information.  Inability to maintain or upgrade to a required security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position
