Junior Level Aerospace Engineer - Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (Full-time)

Eglin AFB, FL

This position will provide advisory and assistance support to the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate (AFRL/RW). The successful candidate will support the development of varying fidelity level (ex.3-DOF, 5-DOF, 6-DOF) simulations, weapons systems, and subsystems covering a broad spectrum of simulation methodologies and using these simulations to perform analysis.


• A Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace engineering and knowledge of modeling, simulation, and analysis of munition systems in 6-DoF simulation environments is required

• Ability to produce aerodynamic models for use in a 6-DoF environment (e.g. Datcom, CART-3D)

• Ability to work with computer aided design (CAD) software

• Knowledge of interactions between munitions subsystems: airframe, seekers, guidance and control software and hardware
• Ability to analyze simulation outputs, assessing performance results and identify possible subsystem improvements
• Knowledge of control systems for aerospace vehicles a plus

• Knowledge Linux or Unix a plus
• Experience with C or C++ integrating or modifying sub-system models

• Knowledgeable using MathWorks/Simulink

This position requires candidate’s ability to obtain a Secret security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a Secret security clearance will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position.
