Electrical Engineering Aide / Intern (Part-time)

Huntsville, AL

Torch is seeking highly motivated college students for a potential part-time engineering internship opportunity.  The electrical engineering aide/intern will gain valuable hands-on experience working in Torch's electronics lab supporting a broad range of engineering projects.  Responsibilities include supporting the engineering team by providing testing, troubleshooting, fault isolation, equipment setup, prototype assembly, programming and other needed support.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Must be willing to follow safety procedures and work in a safe manner

- Must be willing to follow directions from senior engineers and technicians

- Must be a self-starter with a focus on quality, details, and results

- Must be willing and able to learn new tools and apply new concepts

- Must be willing to set priorities, work independently, and complete tasks on time

 

Basic Requirements

- Actively enrolled in an ABET-Accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor degree program

- Basic understanding of circuits and electronic components

- Basic understanding of computer programming using BASIC, C, C++, C#, Java, or similar language

- Familiarity with basic lab equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment, etc.)

- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance
