Modeling and Simulation SME (Full-time)

Hanscom AFB, MA

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee owned company is currently looking to hire a Modeling & Simulation Subject Matter Expert (SME)


The qualified candidate will provide technical writing support to the Tactical Air Control Party-Modernization (TACP-M) and Mobility Air Force Tactical Data Links (MAF TDL) programs, which are within the Battle Management Directorate’s Theater Battle Control Division (AFLCMC/HBD) at Hanscom AFB, MA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Technical Data Support Services (TDSS) to the TACP and MAF TDL program office.

  • Responsible for the development, sustainment and publication of technical data (technical order documents and engineering data) to support aircraft, vehicle and dismounted communications equipment.

  • Provide support in documenting any changes or revisions to all Technical Orders (TOs) and other documents that may be impacted modification or safety issue.

  • Review TM performance specifications and standards for operational compatibility and adequacy to support program sustainment.

  • Management of RFP, SOW generation, fact-finding / Technical Evaluation and negotiations for the various system contract proposals.

  • Assist in the implementation of robust logistics and sustainment support processes to address lifecycle requirements of the program.

  • Manage all technical content in Technical Orders and Time Compliant Technical Orders in Technical Manual Information Systems (TMIS).

  • Conduct initial stock listing of Non-cataloged items (D043/D143C), also managing equipment designators/information in Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS).

  • Coordinating with Technical Order Management Agency (TOMA) to distribute all technical data to the user community. Includes collaboration in AF sites, TMIS and ETIMS.

  • Perform hands on validation/verification efforts of all newly developed or modified technical data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant DoD Experience .
  • Requires experience in coordinating with manufacturers, engineers, equipment specialists, program managers.
  • Knowledge of technical order manager responsibilities is essential.
  • Have a strong technical publication background and experience in dealing with all aspects of technical data to include acquisitions, editorial, and printing and distribution.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an IPT environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office suite
