Lead Test Engineer (LRSO TMRR) (Full-time)

Eglin AFB, FL

Torch is currently seeking qualified candidates to support the 780th Test Squadron on the TMAS contract at Eglin AFB in Florida. The 780th Test Squadron has been designated the LDTO (Lead Developmental Testing Organization) for the LRSO (Long Range Stand Off) program office which is developing a replacement for the Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM). This person will initially work directly with one of the two prime contractors during the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) phase and then as part of the overall test team after down-select.


Under the guidance of the 780th Test Squadron Test Director, this position will serve as a Lead Test Engineer in support of the Long-Range Standoff Cruise Missile developmental flight test program. The individual serve as a focal point for understanding system performance requirements, development of test objectives, test methodology, detailed test procedures, and data requirements, identification of instrumentation and test support equipment requirements, development of data collection and reduction processes, coordination with test support agencies and ranges, and other tasks as assigned by the Test Director in support of the 96th Test Wing (96 TW) test execution plan. The individual will be expected to identify, track and resolve issues independently while overseeing the efforts of less senior personnel. Specific duties include:

• Monitor government and contractor progress in meeting requirements and milestones to ensure compliance with the 96 TW test execution plan
• Lead the integration of prime contractor test planning efforts into the 96 TW test process
• Lead the production and approval of 96 TW test planning documentation
• Conduct on-going liaison with members of government/contractor integrated test team
• Perform Test Conductor duties

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program (Master’s degree preferred)
• Experience with aircraft and weapons integration and testing
• Familiarity with instrumentation, range, aircraft, aircrew, data, infrastructure and safety constraints associated with developmental flight test

Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with government and prime contractor interactions during the acquisition and test of aircraft and weapons
• Familiarity with 96 TW test process
• Test Pilot School Graduate

This position requires candidates possess a current Secret security clearance with a completed investigation within the last 6 years (TS eligible) in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position.
