Torch Technologies announced today that it has made a $150,000 commitment to the Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County to help fund the new Catalyst Fund. The fund is an endowment to be funded by unrestricted gifts which will empower the Community Foundation to make annual grants for the betterment of the community. Torch Technologies has provided the inaugural leadership gift of $50,000 to initiate the Catalyst Fund and is offering an additional $100,000 as a challenge grant to match other corporate and individual gifts to the Catalyst Fund. In a press conference held at Torch Technologies August 14, 2014, Bill Roark, Torch CEO, stated, "As we have grown from humble beginnings to over 350 employees, I have continued to be inspired by the good work and the generosity of our employees…who routinely give back to our community. Torch Technologies has always taken great pride in being a good community partner and we are committed to finding opportunities to have an additional positive impact. We have been looking for the right opportunity for Torch to make a "signature" type of commitment, one that will have a long-lasting positive impact on our community, one that will continue giving back to our community for years, even decades down the road. There are so many excellent organizations in our community that choosing was not an easy task. We feel the Catalyst Fund established by the Community Foundation provides just the right opportunity to meet these criteria."
