Torch Named One of the 2021 Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services by Great Place to Work® for Sixth Consecutive Year
Great Place to Work® has once again honored Torch Technologies (Torch) as one of the 2021 Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services. This is Torch's sixth time being named to this prestigious list, and Torch secured the No. 20 spot as the only Huntsville-headquartered company on the Large Companies list. Earning a spot means that Torch is one of the best companies to work for in the country.
The Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 463,000 current employees working in the consulting or professional services industries in the United States. Great Place to Work®, a global people analytics and consulting firm, distributed and evaluated more than 60 survey questions describing the extent to which the employee's organization creates a Great Place to Work For All™.
Eighty-five percent of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. The remaining 15 percent of the rank is based on an assessment of all employees' daily experiences of innovation, the company's values, and the effectiveness of their leaders.
"We are so grateful to our dedicated employee-owners for their constant commitment to excellence during these unprecedented times," said Torch President and CEO John Watson. "We celebrate and thank our employee-owners for all they have done to earn Torch this incredible honor. We are also honored that our employee-owners continue to rate our workplace highly, and that Great Place to Work® is recognizing our positive culture for the sixth consecutive year."
The Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services list is highly competitive. Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, selected the list using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they are a Great Place to Work-Certified™ organization. Ninety-six percent of Torch's employee-owners said Torch is a great place to work. This number is thirty-seven percent higher than the average U.S. company.
Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.
"These companies are proof that strong company culture is not restricted to the physical workplace," said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, VP global recognition, Great Place to Work®. "Despite the challenges of the pandemic and remote work, employees at these companies say they feel supported by their leaders, connected to their colleagues and that managers bring out the best in everyone."
The Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations. Torch was also recognized as a Best Workplace in Consulting & Professionals Services in each year from 2016-2020, a Best Small and Medium Workplace by Great Place to Work® in each year from 2016-2018, as well as a Best Workplace for Millennials in 2018 and 2020 by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE magazine. Additionally, Torch was also named a Best Workplace for Parents by Great Place to Work® in 2020.
